Once the Application is completed, our enrollment specialist will follow up for additional information and child safety screening needs.
A donation of $40.00 is requested to cover the cost of your fingerprinting, DMV and background check.
You’ll also meet one-on-one with one of our case managers for an interview so we can learn more about you
Attend a group training full of info and resources to guide your mentoring journey. This will include youth safety and understanding relevant social issues.
In addition to the group training there will be 7 hours of individual mandated trainings that can be completed on the volunteers' own time. This must be completed prior to being accepted into the program and prior to the match.
Once you are approved to start, we’ll introduce you to your Little/Mentee! You can schedule meetups for 2-4 times a month for a few hours and check-in regularly with your Match Support Specialist.
As a Mentor, you are walking alongside a young person in their journey and helping to model positive, healthy behaviors that make a big difference!
Volunteers are expected to…
Complete all youth safety and awareness trainings.
Commit to the program for a year minimum (2-4 times per month, a couple hours at a time).
Abide by all youth safety rules and guidelines.
Maintain communication with their Little, the Little’s parent/guardian, and their Match Support Specialist.
Volunteers must…
Be at least 21 years old.
Commit to the program for a year minimum.
Have a valid driver's license and current car insurance.
Does not use any illegal drugs currently, or within the last twelve months.
Never have been convicted of a felony.
Have a safe driving record. (no DUI’s on record and no more than 2 moving violations in the past year).
