Welcome to the Campus Pathway

Hello! My name is Lety and I am your case manager - I'm always available to answer any questions you have, help connect you with resources that are helpful, and make sure you feel comfortable participating in our mentoring programs! You'll also hear from me on a regular basis when I reach out to check in and see how you're doing.

To earn your Campus pathway certificate stamp, you must participate in both of the following programs for a full calendar year (June 1 – May 30):

Big Futures Fellowship

Big University

There is information about each program in the following sections of this page. You will always have access to this link!

Are you ready to build Big Futures on your Campus Pathway? Let's go!

Fun Fact: Our Campus Pathway certificate stamp displays a traditional "achievement" laurel, a symbol of what bridges the gap between formal academia and informal, lifelong growth: while it represents the completion of a rigorous course of study, it likewise symbolizes mastery that comes from years of self-driven work, learning, and lived experience.

The rest of this page is currently under construction. Feel free to explore, but please note that the information provided is subject to change.

Big Futures Fellowship

Semi-facilitated, small peer groups right on participating campuses. This program focuses on building a community of support and shared goals. Attend the following Big Futures Fellowship meetups; you are permitted to miss 2 sessions and still receive your certificate stamp.

Meetup Agendas

August - Kickoff on Campus

Goal: Get to know your fellowship cohort!

Icebreaker: Each person shares (1) their name, (2) their major, and (3) one thing they're passionate about.

Discussion Prompts: What is everyone's BBSVC connection? What part does mentorship play in your life right now?

September meetup

Goal: Identify one club, elective, or certification path that aligns with a "fun" skill.

Icebreaker:

Discussion Prompts: If you had a 'gap year' where all your expenses were paid and you had to learn one new skill (not for school), what would it be and why? How does that skill reflect what you actually value in a career, creativity, helping others, or maybe technical mastery?

October meetup

Goal:

Icebreaker:

Discussion Prompts: In high school, teachers often find you. In college, you have to find them. What stops us from asking for the help we’re paying for Identify three "help hubs" on a participating campus (e.g., the Writing Center, Financial Aid Office, or Health Clinic) and save their contact info or locations.

November meetup

Goal: Draft a "Low-Stakes Email" or DM to that person just asking for a 10-minute coffee chat or a quick piece of advice.

Icebreaker:

Discussion Prompts: Think of someone in your life or community who seems to 'have it figured out.' What is one question you’ve always wanted to ask them but felt too shy to?" Why is it hard to ask for help? How can having a "Board of Directors" (mentors, teachers, peers) make the college transition easier?

December meetup

Goal: Submit an end-of-semester campus climate survey.

Icebreaker: What is one 'luxury' item or service others use that you wish you could have?

Discussion Prompts: How do we differentiate between "non-negotiables" and "nice-to-haves"? What should be accessible to every student, regardless of financial status?

January meetup

Goal:

Icebreaker:

Discussion Prompts: What is one school task that 'drains your battery' instantly, and one task that actually gives you a little boost of energy? In college, you have more "free time" but less structure. How do you schedule your day based on your energy levels rather than just a clock?

February meetup

Goal/Icebreaker: Practice the "Feedback Sandwich." Pair up and give each other one piece of genuine praise, one constructive tip for their "Big Futures" goal, and one more positive takeaway.

Discussion Prompts: In college and career, feedback is constant. How do we separate our work from our worth?

March meetup

Goal/Icebreaker: Take 10 minutes to "clean up" one social profile or, better yet, create a LinkedIn profile and add one professional skill you’ve learned through BBSVC programs.

Discussion Prompts: If a college admissions officer or a future employer Googled you right now, what is the first thing they’d find? Does it actually represent who you are today? We all have "cringe" posts from a few years ago. How do we transition from using social media for entertainment to using it for opportunity?

April meetup

Goal/Icebreaker: Identify one alternative pathway for your interest (like a trade school, certificate program, or community college transfer track) just to see what the "safety net" looks like.

Discussion Prompts: What’s your 'Plan B' if your dream college or career path suddenly wasn't an option? Is that Plan B actually kind of cool too? Sometimes the "wrong turn" leads to a better destination. How do we handle the feeling of "failure" without letting it stop our momentum.

May meetup

Goal:

Icebreaker:

Discussion Prompts: Discuss the difference between the "social" college experience and the "academic" reality. What has been our biggest hurdle? Is this pretty consistent with how your expectations looked at the beginning of the school year?

June meetup

Goal: Submit an end-of-semester campus climate survey.

Icebreaker: If you were given $1,000 to improve one thing on your current campus or in your neighborhood, what would it be?

Discussion Prompts: Leadership isn't just a title; it's an action. How can being a 'Big' or a 'Big Futures Fellow' change the way you see your responsibility to your community?
