Since 1970, BBSVC has been creating one-to-one youth mentoring friendships that last a lifetime.
Through professionally-supported mentoring, we ignite the biggest possible future for youth.
BBSVC has consistently served 1,500 youth each year for over 10 years, and has a waitlist of youth eager to join our programs. Journeying from risk to resilience through our mentoring model, youth matched with a mentor build better self-esteem, improve their future focus, and prepare themselves for bigger, brighter futures.
“She gave me a sunflower when we first met because they make her smile, and she wanted me to smile and be happy too!”
“The staff at BBSVC did a perfect job matching me to Reed. Not only were they thorough and swift; but they really nailed down my love of sports.”
“My son is seeing thoughtfulness and kindness every time he sees Ed [his Big]. It is great to witness and I appreciate the support Darrien is given.”
“He beats me every time we play basketball. Sometimes I can win when we play air hockey. Hanging out with him takes me back to a simpler time.”

Out of respect for our BBSVC family’s concerns about COVID-19 and as a preventative measure to support the health of the greater Ventura County community, we are cancelling our Bowl For Kids’ Sake event on Saturday, March 14.
…but there is still fun to come!
We know that the success of Bowl For Kids’ Sake is driven by you, our fundraisers and sponsors who put in so much time and effort in getting the word out about our programs. Everyone at BBSVC is grateful for all of your support.
We will still be giving out prizes to our TOP FUNDRAISERS for their efforts, and we have added a brand new prize: you can win a bowling party of your very own – two lanes of bowling, pizza, and swag bags! The top fundraisers will be announced on MONDAY, MARCH 23, at 12:00pm.
Thank you for all you do to support BBSVC through Bowl For Kids’ Sake and all year long!

Donate: $50 celebrating 50 Years!
With the financial impact of COVID-19 in Ventura County, individual gifts have become more important and crucial than ever. Our Match Makers generously give BBSVC the tools it needs to improve childrens’ confidence, educational ambitions, and unique goals. These funds bolster child safety, reach more volunteers to match with youth on our waitlist, and allow us to continue to deliver top-tier case management for our programs, whether remotely or in person.
Any gift amount strengthens our fun and professionally-supported, one-to-one youth mentoring programs right here in your own community! It is a $1,500 annual investment to create and professionally-support a single BBSVC mentoring match for one year in the following ways:
Sharing information, facilitating the first meeting between a Big, Little, and their family.
Inquiry, interview, review, and approval, as well as connecting to wraparound resources.
Finding our mentors through partnerships, advertising, events, fairs, and out in the community.
Facilities, liability insurance, communication, office supplies, and staff development.
Inquiry, interview, training, assessment, background checks, review, and approval.
Professional Match Support specialists call, email, text, visit, and track Bigs, Littles, and their families to provide top-tier quality case management.
Your gift right now provides social connection in a time when physical distancing creates feelings of isolation, fear, and anxiety. Thank you for supporting our Bigs and Littles today!
